Cassava production to generate income, jobs for youths – Ex-lawmaker, Hajiya Halima

KANO – In a bid to achieve food security in Nigeria, Hajiya Halima Zubairu Danbatta, former state House of Assembly candidate from Danbatta local government area of Kano state ,and chairperson of the Nigerian Cassava farmers Growers Association, Kano State Chapter, has emphasized the importance of women’s involvement in cassava production.

During a visit to the local Cassava seedlings Banks in Gwarzo local government area of Kano State, Hajiya Halima highlighted the potential of cassava production to generate income and create job opportunities for the teeming youth and Women’s population.

“Cassava production can be a game-changer for our economy and our youths,” she said. “If our youths can fully engage in cassava production, it will not only boost our economy but also take them out of Restiveness.”

Hajiya Halima called on the government to support cassava farmers by providing soft loans and modern mechani equipment to enhance productivity. “We need the government’s support to take our cassava production to the next level,” she said. “With the right tools and resources, we can increase our yield and improve the quality of our cassava products.”

The chairperson emphasized the importance of empowering women in cassava production, noting that they play a crucial role in food security. “Women are the backbone of our society, and their involvement in cassava production is essential for our food security,” she said. “We need to encourage more women to get involved in cassava production and provide them with the necessary support and resources.”

Hajiya Halima highlighted the potential of cassava production to create jobs and stimulate economic growth by creating easy access to exportation. “Cassava production can generate employment opportunities for our youths and contribute to our economic growth,” she said. “We need to tap into this potential and create an enabling environment for cassava farmers to thrive.”

The chairperson praised the Kano State government for its efforts in promoting cassava production in the state. “Kano State has made significant progress in cassava production, and we need to build on this momentum,” she said. “With the right policies and support, we can make Kano State a hub for cassava production in Nigeria.”

Hajiya Halima outlined the benefits of cassava production, including its potential to improve food security, generate income, and create jobs. “Cassava is a versatile crop that can be used to produce a variety of products, from food to industrial products,” she said. “We need to take advantage of this potential and promote cassava production in our state and country.”

The chairperson highlighted the challenges facing cassava farmers, including lack of access to modern equipment and soft loans. “We need the government’s support to overcome these challenges and improve our productivity,” she said.

Hajiya Halima emphasized the importance of cassava production for Nigeria’s food security and economic growth. “We need to prioritize cassava production and provide the necessary support to farmers,” she said. “With the right policies and support, we can make cassava production a major driver of our economy and improve the lives of our people.”
